Innovation in mobility favoured by people-moving systems, mechanized routes and the most recent short-span urban transportation solutions has become a strategic factor today, now that spatial accessibility is considered a decisive element in reducing the processes of segregation, as well as granting access to job opportunities, and making it possible to use services, thereby improving one’s personal quality of life. It is not a coincidence that the most interesting cases of new systems presented in this issue refer to: new means to access historic hill towns and small city centres that risked being abandoned, and to encourage tourism and the economic development that comes with it; ways to reinforce and integrate public transportation into large and medium-size cities; guaranteed forms of access to inland territories that have been marginalized by development in recent years. In more than one case however, their realization has also been an opportunity for urban regeneration initiatives and for the revitalization of public spaces, illustrating the many impacts and bene ts (not always taken into consideration) that innovation in transport systems can ensure.

Abstract
In more than one case however, their realization has also been an opportunity for urban regeneration initiatives and for the revitalization of public spaces, illustrating the many impacts and bene ts (not always taken into consideration) that innovation in transport systems can ensure.Pubblicazioni consigliate
