In the first great period of European travel literature, texts can show single episodes with a high degree of narrativity. Therefore, in the context of the wide travel relations of West and East voyagers, it is often possible to find passages that work as genuine/real short stories. Aiming at examining such a case, this article provides stylistic and narrative analysis of Magellano’s death episode in Antonio Pigafetta’s Relazione del primo viaggio intorno al mondo.
