This paper discusses an ethnographic research carried out in the Republic of Moldova, within an eparhia of the Moldovan Orthodox Church. In this local scenario of insecurity and political disenchantment, Orthodox Churches appear as social protagonists and their observation as a possible pivotal point in the analysis of this post-Soviet region, politically and religiously divided between Bucharest and Moscow. The role played here by the resurgence of religion will be therefore briefly explored both as an individual and social instrument of adaptation and as a governmental instrument, through three different lenses : ritual, identity, politics.

Abstract
This paper discusses an ethnographic research carried out in the Republic of Moldova, within an eparhia of the Moldovan Orthodox Church. In this local scenario of insecurity and political disenchantment, Orthodox Churches appear as social protagonists and their observation as a possible pivotal point in the analysis of this post-Soviet region, politically and religiously divided between Bucharest and Moscow. The role played here by the resurgence of religion will be therefore briefly explored both as an individual and social instrument of adaptation and as a governmental instrument, through three different lenses : ritual, identity, politics.Pubblicazioni consigliate
