The current state of the art of the decorations of Palazzo dei Diamanti in the years of Cesare d’Este. New reflections and a virtual tour · The painted cycle in the apartment of Cesare d’Este in Palazzo dei Diamanti has been the most remarkable interior decoration in late 16th century Ferrara. Our essays aim at reconsidering the enterprise from different points of view, studying the original disposition of canvases on the wooden ceilings and wall friezes, and the iconographical choices of the patron. Resting upon archival documentation and sources, with the collaboration of the MultiLab in the Department of Cultural Heritage, University of Bologna, we propose the reconstruction of the decoration through virtual reality
