Abstract

Sometimes the evolution of EU law seems to stop or backtrack: this is a fact that finds evidence in the Directive (EU) 2015/412 of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive 2001/18/EC, as regards the possibility for the Member States to restrict or prohibit the cultivation of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in their territory, published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 13 March 2015. The paper is a quick note, drafted after its publication, to illustrate the main features of the new act and to share with the reader some doubts, without any presumption of completeness.
