La representación política: ¿corazón y talón de Aquiles de la estadalidad moderna?

The present article aims to interrogate the history and actuality of the concept of political representation from an analysis of its imbrication in the conceptual device of modernity and its aporetic character. Informed by the heuristic perspective of conceptual history as political philosophy, the text develops a journey through the modulations of representation by analyzing the main landmarks of this political concept, from the formation of the modern state to the beginnings of the paradigm of governmentality, resorting the work of Näf, Hobbes, Sieyès, Guizot and Moreno. The aim is to highlight the aporias in the history of the concept in order to reflect on its relationship with the western state, liberalism and democracy. We also wonder about the possibility of overcoming these aporias based on Guizot's theory of representative government and the value of the plural and active character of citizenship in the representative relationship.
