La muerte de Cristo en la Galicia medieval: un recorrido por los medios y formas de las imágenes escultóricas del Crucificado

This paper draws an itinerary through the different medieval pieces preserved in Galicia in which the image of the crucified Christ is depicted. Given the enormous heterogeneity of the pieces, this study is devoted to making an inventory exclusively of works produced in stone and wood. It provides a typological classification of these artworks and a brief interpretation of their functions. Thus, the main purpose of this paper is to offer an approach to the Galician panorama that can serve as a resource for academic studies interested in conducting a comparative analysis in which to include the Galician reality.
