Il presente contributo intende considerare il museo dell’educazione strumento per l’innovazione pedagogica e la formazione storico-educativa dei docenti. L’insegnamento della storia dell’educazione, tradizionalmente presente nel contesto italiano nei percorsi indirizzati alla formazione di educatori e docenti, evidenzia oggi l’urgenza di un suo ripensamento proteso all’accrescimento valoriale e identitario della disciplina nell’ambito delle professionalità educative. All’interno di linee di ricerca focalizzate sul recupero, conservazione e valorizzazione del patrimonio storico-educativo, e di un orizzonte culturale rivolto alle prassi di Public History, il museo dell’educazione viene riconosciuto strumento di rinnovamento della didattica universitaria orientata, pur non rinunciando all’imprescindibile acquisizione di contenuti informativi, in direzione di un potenziamento del pensare storicamente le professionalità educative. This paper intends to consider the education museum as a tool for pedagogical innovation and the historical-educational training of teachers. The teaching of the history of education, traditionally present in the Italian context into courses aimed at the training of educators and teachers, today underlines the urgency of its rethinking aimed at increasing the value and identity of the discipline in the field of educational professionalism. Within lines of research focused on the recovery, conservation and enhancement of the historical-educational heritage, and of a cultural horizon aimed at the practices of Public History, the education museum is recognized as a tool for renewal of oriented university teaching, while not giving up to the essential acquisition of informative contents, in the direction of a strengthening of thinking historically about educational professionals.
