There is no doubt that a sobriety of language characterizes some important sacred buildings, assuming a precise political meaning. at the same time, the reflection on the ‘neo-Byzantine’ space module of the quincunx leads to a notable experimental commitment, in churches such as san Giovanni elemosinario, san Geminiano and san salvador and san Fantin. The purpose of this essay is to investigate whether and how loredan had a role in the development of this renewal of sacred architecture.
