Abstract

The article proposes a reflection on the effects on teaching practices, and in particular on reading education, of a group of primary and lower secondary school teachers (n=24), who created a learning community through a teacher professional development research. Through discussions about the teaching of reading and teaching practices in general, they have reached more awareness of the importance of sharing among peers, a vision of the teaching-learning processes more centered on students, and they have developed a more communitarian perspective about the importance of reading and sharing good practices and opportunities to promote it. The first four meetings were held fortnightly starting in July 2021 continuing monthly and ending in August 2022. All meetings, apart from the final one, were held remotely.
