The paper contextualizes the life of a forgotten Dominican Sister, Fantina Gambara, from the Convent of Santa Caterina in Brescia, in the light of the exempla of medieval reformers in the province of Brescia. The Vita della Beata Caritade, written in 1558 by the Dominican Father Domenico Martinengo, is archived in the town in which the Sister had grown up. Against the background of the sack of Brescia in 1512, the voice of a woman will be put in dialogue with the spread and circulation of the writings of Catherine of Siena and the prophetical voices of the Dominican women of Brescia.

Abstract
