This paper proposes an OpenHBIM methodology for the analysis of material deterioration in BCH starting from visual inspections to obtain a preliminary assessment of its current state and address the restoration strategy. It is Open since it only uses open standards, formats and software and HBIM since it is based on information modelling applied to BCH. The procedure guides the survey phase, relying on the IFC data structure (Section 3.1), and implements a method that enables the evaluation of deterioration phenomena based on both quantitative and qualitative data. These are implemented in the model as additional parameters that describe deterioration phenomena according to well-known guidelines, with the aim of identifying the categories of intervention needed (Sections. 3.2). These pieces of information are collected and elaborated by a purposely developed script that is presented in Section 3.3. Starting from the HBIM model of the case study (Section 3.4), the analysis of the architectural surfaces and the mapping of deterioration phenomena are proposed (Section 4.1) and elaborated to obtain the priority of intervention through the integration of judgements collected on site (Section 4.2).
