10.5 analyses of Iron Age textile remains from Pezdirčeva Njiva in Podzemelj / 10.5 Analiza ostankov železnodobnih tkanin s Pezdirčeve njive v Podzemlju

Preliminary investigations of textile traces excavated from Iron Age cemetery of Pezdirceva njiva in Podzemelj, Slovenia. Textile traces were identified in 12 burials. All of the textiles survived in a mineralised state, primarily in contact with iron. The textiles were investigated using standard technological analytical procedures, which included textile and fibre characterisation. The results of the analyses provide important new information regarding textile technology and use in Iron Age Slovenia and, more widely, in north and central Balkans.
