This article presents a preliminary study of a corpus of eight short exegetical writings attributed to Sedulius Scottus. These texts comment on various prefaces and accessus to the Gospels that were common in medieval biblical manuscripts. The study examines the manuscript tradition, which includes two main versions - a longer one in most manuscripts and an abbreviated one in the Vatican manuscript. It analyses the structure and content of the corpus, highlighting Sedulius’ use of grammatical explanations and his engagement with patristic exegetical traditions.
