Through the examination of the main protective measures for the digital worker introduced by Directive (EU) 2024/2831, the essay aims to demonstrate the existence of certain regulatory gaps in the Italian legal system with regard to the protection of those working within the gig economy framework. In particular, the author, after harmonizing the rules introduced by the aforementioned Directive with European policies on youth employment, focuses on the main vulnerabilities of young workers in the digital labor market, proposing some possible solutions for the future.
