The article focuses on the regulation of patents in late nineteenth century Italy to analyse the relationship between law and technological innovation during the Second Industrial Revolution. At that time, Italian legislation was examined by a number of jurists who published several works on this subject, by giving great importance to case law and jurisprudence. In such a context, special consideration is paid to the studies carried out by an Italian lawyer, Edoardo Bosio, who was among the most prominent authors in this field of research. According to Bosio, the patent system - which represented a bridge between law, industrial development and technological innovation - should be promoted inside and outside the country. His knowledge of the law, associated with the constant attention to practical applications, reveals the role played by this jurist in the national and international debate on the threshold of the new century.

Abstract
His knowledge of the law, associated with the constant attention to practical applications, reveals the role played by this jurist in the national and international debate on the threshold of the new century.Pubblicazioni consigliate
