This paper examines the editorial history and various versions of the biography of Scanderbeg, beginning with the 1820 Neapolitan edition by Andreas Papadopoulos Vretos and tracing subsequent editions published in Palermo (1845) and Athens (1848). Although the Athenian edition remains faithful to the Italian text, it stands out for including, in the appendix, of a linguistic dissertation on the Albanian language by Tommaso Pace. First published in 1846 in the Athenian journal «I Athinà», Pace’s contribution marks a pivotal moment in the identity discourse of the Albanian communities of Italy and the broader Greco-Albanian cultural sphere during the nineteenth century.

Abstract
This paper examines the editorial history and various versions of the biography of Scanderbeg, beginning with the 1820 Neapolitan edition by Andreas Papadopoulos Vretos and tracing subsequent editions published in Palermo (1845) and Athens (1848). Although the Athenian edition remains faithful to the Italian text, it stands out for including, in the appendix, of a linguistic dissertation on the Albanian language by Tommaso Pace. First published in 1846 in the Athenian journal «I Athinà», Pace’s contribution marks a pivotal moment in the identity discourse of the Albanian communities of Italy and the broader Greco-Albanian cultural sphere during the nineteenth century.Pubblicazioni consigliate
