The present research tests the effectiveness of subject-generated compared with experimenter-supplied Loci pathways. It was hypothesized that subject-generated were more beneficial than experimenter-supplied Loci. Data show the greater usefulness of subject-generated Loci pathway particularly in the long term. The discussion focuses on the effects of subject-generation of images of the loci pathway on recall.
