ABSTRACT. This communication provides a textual analysis of some excerpts from Iamblichus’ De saecta Pythagorica preserved in the ms. Heidelberg Pal. gr. 129 (f. 71rv), the famous notebook of Nicephorus Gregoras. The study of these excerpts indicates that the source used by Gregoras is the ms. Laur. Plut. 86,3, the archetype of the manuscript tradition of Iamblichus’ four treatises on Pythagoreanism. In some cases it’s possible to notice the reuse of the same excerpts taken from Iamblichus in the works of Gregoras, indicating that the Pal. gr. 129 was a source of useful quotations for Gregoras’ own literary production. Finally, we are able to provide a palaeographical evidence of Gregoras’ use of the ms. Laur. Plut. 86,3 in some notes written by Gregoras himself in the margins of another work preserved in the Florentine manuscript: the Life of Proclus of the Neoplatonist philosopher Marinus of Neapolis.

Abstract
