Understanding the logical connectives and being able to make simple inferences are transversal, interdisciplinary, citizenship skills. Here we describe a learning path for 8-9 year old children that touches on fundamental aspects, such as implication and logical consequence, which are usually considered too difficult and hence excluded from the curriculum. We chose to work with materials and concepts that are close to the students' daily experience: (road) signs and "rules" (in games and in life). This is based on the idea that logic means reflecting on the structure of our language, rather than learning formal rules of reasoning.
