Abstract
The unusual linen twill fragments found in the Hallstatt salt mine in Austria, previously assumed to date to the Bronze Age were radiocarbon dated to the Medieval period. Then new dating and reassessment of the possible find context of the two linen twills from Hallstatt has important implications for textile research as – up to now – these textiles have been counted among the oldest of their kind. They must now be excluded from the list of prehistoric finds.File in questo prodotto:
